I'm older but no doubt knew many of the same people and like him humour has been one of the things I've relied on in life. Our humble beginnings give us a unique view of life and an appreciation of nature and possibilities. We all thought we wouldn't live to see 30, but many of us did! It was great to read this book and remember how chuluota and Oviedo used to be. Hard to put down. Wanted to read more
Mark takes you through the trials and tribulations of growing up in Central Florida in a collection of short stories told with warmth and humor. The book is a fun read and will have you laughing out loud at some of the antics his “tribe” and he experience. Buy this one and enjoy!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the antics of boys growing up in Chuluota. Kind of a "Huck Finn with a Twist". It was especially fun figuring out who the characters were. I am looking forward to another book as there are so many more stories to tell. Thank you Mark. Keep 'em coming.
Life in an unincorporated community during the late 70's. Tails about the teenagers and their friends during those times..

I loved this book of short stories and tales of growing up in an impoverished (yet rich in experience) middle Florida town. These kids should have never made it to adulthood, but they DID and they lived to tell the tale. I laughed out loud at some of the things they got up to. I personally know Mark and he grew up to be a very upstanding and conscientious man whom I am proud to call my friend. The experiences of his youth made him what he is today and it worked out well for him -- and for all of his many friends who know and respect him.
