The manga was well, well used. The backing fell apart and the book is literally crumbling in my hand as I am reading it.
I watched the series first, the recent OVAs (which I find to be much better than the show) and I'm finally reading the manga. I like the direction of the manga a lot and I can't wait to collect them all! Omnibus editions are so awesome for manga newcomers.
I got this manga thinking it was the last volume in the series. Been waiting almost 2 years to read it and it's the BIGGEST cliff hanger of an ending. Can't really call it an ending, the manga leaves off before anything super important happens so this isn't the conclusion at all. Almost a filler really. Makes me sad to think but I cannot find a volume 13.
The manga allows me the time to process the characters much more than the anime - Which seemed to breeze by them at a rapid pace. I also enjoyed the artwork which definitely drew me in and gave me the false sense that I was watching the anime.
An awesome read and great graphic novel to own.
Amazing series and the print quality was great for all the volumes, but every volume except the last one had pages coming out just from opening/closing the covers. Seems like a special case for me, but you should beware when purchasing.
Sadamoto's Evangelion vol 12. Story gets more wtf as you read - Gendo, Shinji, and Misato on the cover. Admittedly, Sadamoto's art isn't as good as his first volumes of Evangelion, but it doesn't distract from enjoying the manga. Cool little sci-fi story, highly recommended read.
I love the art and the story is still pretty good as it follows the anime well.

The binding is a bit weak though.
