Life in uptown Dallas is exciting enought already for small town girl Megan. But when Mike walks into the restaurant where she works, things are going to crank up a notch.
Excerpt
Mike excused himself from the table and followed her to the back of the restaurant. When he entered the vestibule that led to the restroom doors, it was empty. Knowing she was in the ladies room, he briefly opened the men’s room and saw that it was unoccupied. He didn’t go in, but turned and leaned against the wall outside the ladies restroom and waited to make his move.
Megan washed up with hands that shook. It was over. She couldn’t take Brad back. The final text telling her he wasn’t coming tonight was it. Her eyes filled with tears as she realized she was in a city with no family and no boyfriend. Six years of her life, down the drain. A single tear fell. She wasn’t wasting another second.
She stiffened her spine as she pushed the door open and prepared to go back to work. Her step faltered when she saw the tall, broad shouldered man leaning nonchalantly against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. The oxygen stalled in her lungs as she saw his eyes on her. Twin feelings of alarm and excitement slipped through her veins. She lowered
her eyes from him and prepared to move away. But she couldn’t be rude. “Hello.” The word was little more than a whisper.
She turned away and hadn’t taken two steps when a large, male hand fell on her wrist and held her immobile.
“Just a minute.” The words were a demand and shock slithered down her spine as she looked down and saw that rough, tanned hand wrapped all the way around her wrist. The bottom fell from her stomach as she lifted her face and saw the dark, velvet brown eyes watching her.

I love Lynda Chance's Alpha males and this book was great. The only reason for four stars is because I wanted more at the end
Fast and naughty with a bit of cute, I liked it very much. I wish that it was a bit longer but I still enjoyed it. ^_^
I love Lynda's books and Mike is one of her uber alpha's. Megan is finally had enough of her loser boyfriend. Good thing that Mike found her before anyone else did. I would love to see a follow up on this one to give us more.

I was holding off reading this short story because of its length. I am not a fan of novellas. But Lynda Chance's heroes always ring my bell. I reread her stories often. I hope she picks up where she left off one day and gives Michael and Megan a grand finish. This interlude was delightful but too short!
For 26 pages, this has to be one of the hottest reads! Intense doesn't even begin to describe Mike. If you don't like men who takes complete control, stay far away. If you do, don't read this in public.
This is a very quick story. And you don't really get to know the characters. But it was still fun to read. As always awesome alpha male. Stuff like this never happened to me when I was 23. Which makes it fun to read and live vicariously through the character. Lynda Chance 's books are awesome I own them all just wish they were longer cause most are just short stories. But her new book josh and Hannah is a decent length. I would have given 4 stars if it were longer
Lynda Chance excels in writing Alpha males but this time I felt Mike was too aggressive and Megan was too submissive. I felt like this was more date rape than romance. Mike was all about what he wanted and rolling over Megan. She would be thoroughly under his thumb. While this is not unusual for Lynda Chance heroes something about Mike set me off.
