Paige in Progress Reluctant Hearts Book 3 edition by Brighton Walsh Contemporary Romance eBooks

This PAINS me to say but I didn't love this as much as I like the two previous books. I am a HUGE fan of Caged in Winter it was one of my top reads and the second book was just as good. I had really high hopes for Paige and I couldn't wait to read it...

My issues were more about the repetitiveness of the inner monologue and the thoughts of the characters. I felt like Paige was beating a dead horse over and over again. I got why she was the way she was, she'd been burned. I just felt like it kept repeating the same sentiment too often about her reasons for not wanting to be in a committed long term relationship, and that was a turn off for me in the story.

What I did like about the book was the relationship that grew between the two, and their competitiveness with each other. Paige is not a typically girly girl, which I loved about her. She's into sports as much as she's into fashion, and she won't let anyone best her, she gives everything 110%.

I also loved Paige's brothers and actually hope that Brighton writes a story or two about them! They are both pretty awesome! Not only are they a voice of reason but they are here anchor at times when she needs them.

I loved that we got to see all our favorite characters from the previous books, I adore Winter, Tessa, Jason and Cade and how much they have all formed these fantastic friendships not only as individuals but as couples! You truly want to have a BBQ with them after you see how much fun they all have together!

I feel bad that I didn't love this one as much as the first two. But over all it was still a solid read for me. I did enjoy the relationships and funny moments between Paige and Adam. Brighton still remains one of my go to authors for New Adult Romance. She's got great talent and story development and I can't wait to see what comes next!!!!

Paige in Progress Reluctant Hearts Book 3 edition by Brighton Walsh Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I have always appreciated Ms. Walsh's ability to pull in real situations into her storylines. I especially appreciated the idea that the female isn't looking for a relationship...that's she's doing a more specialized career path (nothing wrong with education or art, but honestly, they're too cliche')...and that the guy hasn't been a man whore.

Ms. Walsh's books are always heavy on the steamy--but I appreciate that there is also a substantial plot and that romance isn't the only thing.

Nicely done!
This was such a fun, breezy read! Paige was a blast in 'Tessa Ever After," so I was thrilled when she got her own story. Brighton Walsh really has her finger on the pulse of that just-after-college, just-figuring out adulthood time of life. As always, her characters struggle with real things--helping parents correct a failing business, establishing yourself in a career, and, of course, grappling with the way falling in love can impact all areas of your life.

And of course, some way sexy love scenes.

So, if feisty, strong-talking women and hot, devoted guys are your deal... Well, get this on your shelf now.
Love not something you can fight, but Paige fought it tooth and nail. Adam wants it all the passion, the love, the white picket fence, you know what WE all dream about. What's the problem? He falls for the one girl that doesn't want any of it. Not the pet names (he uses them anyway) not the dating (so they go on non dates) and not the forever after.
So what does he do?? The exact opposite of what she wants, he gives her everything in slow doses, until she can't help but want it all, best friend and lover.
An amazing read that will have you cheering for Adam the whole time and yelling at Paige in equal measure, right up to the final period on the last page. And as you read "With pleasure sugarlump" your heart will have melted away into a puddle.
Since I finished (head over heels in love with) Tessa, Jason and every single thing about Tessa Ever After, I’ve desperately needed more of this series in my life. I just can’t get enough of Brighton Walsh’s writing and her characters. I had pretty high expectations for Paige in Progress and … I. Loved. It.

The opposites attract trope is still one of my favorites, so it’s no wonder I loved Paige and Adam right off the bat. In a twist on the norm, she’s the one who isn’t looking for anything more than a good time. Relationships aren’t her thing. Adam, on the other hand, is all about relationships. Casual isn’t really something he does. Their chemistry was off the freaking charts and I shipped them hard from the very start. I couldn’t get enough of them. I loved how Paige embraced her sexuality. I loved how Adam called her on her bulls*** and pushed her just enough to make her realize she did want more. With him, that is.

Paige and Adam felt so real to me. I really liked her because she was different from the usual romance heroine. I got her. I understood why she was how she was. But, if I’m honest, I also wanted to shake her a couple times, too. Adam was flipping swoony as hell and I loved him. (Glasses are hot, yo!) How couldn’t she see it? See he was more than the usual good time guys she “dates”? But, having said that, the story wouldn’t have been nearly as pleasing if she had let her walls crumble after their first night together. I loved it because of how great it was to watch the back and forth and experience everything as they fell for each other. Of course, it’s not all fun and games (and sexy times!) here, but both of the characters experience personal growth and have to make some decisions about their futures.

I finished this book in one sitting. I love Brighton’s writing. Her books always make me laugh, swoon and FEEL. And boy, can this lady write the sexy times or what?! Whew. So freaking good. Paige and Adam were fantastic together and I LOVED seeing Jason and Tessa again – and Cade and Winter, of course. I love all them so much. The friendships might’ve been secondary to the storyline here, but they still gave me the warm fuzzies (and a few laughs). I have a bone to pick with Brighton over the epilogue though. Haha. How could you NOT give us names?!?! Did I miss something early on that gave it all away? (I seriously might’ve gone back to search in my eARC for key terms that might give it away, lest I missed them in my reading.) I mean, I felt the feels regardless and I have my own thoughts about who it was, but I want to know for sure! GAH!

In case you haven’t guessed, I totally love this series. It’s one of the best of the best in new adult romance and if you’re not reading it yet, you need to do something about that. Like, now.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
