I waited awhile to read this series but enjoyed it fully. I love the darkness, the paranormal and the way that the books read as if they were a movie. I could see this on film, on tv. The characters and the way their relationships build throughout makes for a perfect serial. There has to be a Dex and Perry series at some point!
With that said, I needed a different and extraordinary book for my end of year reading. And this book I kept for that reason. I had read all the previous books over the last couple years, but I really didn't want to say goodbye to Dex and Perry and all the other believers. Karina Halle brought it and brought it full circle and to the darkness that was lurking behind these characters everywhere.
"Death just seems like an obstacle sometimes. You have the false hope that you can get around anything. But Perry, some things you can't get around. Some things are final.
This story does bring us full circle. It brings us to NYC where Dex's life began in his "house of horrors". And the book starts out with a bang. It never really lets up and brings out all our past characters. But this one is about Dex and Perry and their family's past and connection to one another.
I don't even know where to go from here. It's a scary and sad story, but one that needed to happen to understand these people and their places in their world. It's intense and it's quite the ride. Dex's humor is still there, but the darkness really overtakes this story for the meat of it.
"I am afraid of death.But not because I don't know what's on the other side...But to leave love behind."
Love, death and the purity of both of them shines through when it needs to, but the darkness, the evil that lurks is dang scary. It pulls you in and doesn't let go. So buckle up and be prepared for the end of this roller coaster. It's fast. It's mind boggling. It's about a past and present that rips through you and shreds you. Dex and Perry are strong, but can they fight this evil to come out on the other side all intact?
"But he was Dex Foray through and through, and life looked good on him."
I will miss these characters, but thank goodness I can always go back and reread them. Because this series is one you will want to read over and over. They are always interesting and they are always there. Much love to my favorite Ghost Hunters!

What can I say? Dust to Dust is definitely one big finale to this phenomenal series. The big finale that all fans of Experiment In Terror series have been waiting for and simultaneously have been dreading to read since they knew they would have to say goodbye to our beloved Dex and Perry.

Do you think that nothing can surprise you? You are dead wrong. Karina Halle has one wicked mind of a genius and you have to trust me when I say that you will find yourself breathless and speechless quite often while reading this novel.

Do you think that nothing can scare you? Think twice. Because you have obviously never read anything like this book. Our main duo has never been in such a big trouble as in this book and my heart was constantly racing with all the anxiety. So prepare yourself for a great dose of creepiness and heart-stopping situations.

Do you never/rarely cry when it comes to fictional characters? The fact that you got so far in the series as book #9 means that you care. And if you care about Dex and Perry, this novel won’t leave you indifferent when it comes to emotions and touching moments.

And my favourite part of this book? I loved that Karina Halle still kept Dex’s sarcasm no matter what messed up situations protagonists found themselves in. His unmistakable humour is one of reasons that make Dex so special in my eyes and I was glad it was still present in this instalment.

Experiment In Terror is my all time favourite series taking place in our contemporary word. It has been unforgettable journey and an incredible experience to get to know Dex and Perry. And now I am truly sad to say goodbye. Karina Halle did fantastic job with creating this series and if you haven’t read it yet, you are most definitely missing out!
Why oh why did this series have to end? Why oh why did I take so long to actually start reading them? They have been on the for a very long time. I just have to say I loved everything about this series. The storylines, the characters, everything. I feel like Perry and Dex were real and I was reading some kind of memoir. I was so into the horror of it all. I laughed and cried and had a couple nightmares. Amazing job Karina Halle.
